HTC Introduces Two New Multimedia Smartphones

Taiwanese device manufacturer HTC yesterday unveiled two new flagship devices- the Diamond Touch 2 and Touch Pro 2.

Both multimedia smartphones offer touch screens and a new 3D interface that comes integrated with Windows Mobile 6.1.

Aiming to be more user-friendly, the phones feature a single contact view that displays the individual conversation history of contacts regardless of whether voice, text or email were used. Users can view details from the contact card or the in-call screen during a phone conversation. This ensures that communications with the latest contacts are on hand for easy reference.

Both phones also offer Push Internet which speeds up the downloading and rendering of Web pages. Favorite websites can also be pre-selected for quick access.

The HTC Diamond Touch 2 is 13.7mm thick and comes with a 3.2-inch high-resolution wide-screen VGA display. The phone includes a new touch sensitive zoom bar for quick zooming of Web pages, emails, text messages, photos or documents.

The HTC Touch Pro 2 features a high-resolution 3.6-inch widescreen VGA display and a large finger-friendly QWERTY keyboard. HTC’s new Straight Talk technology enables users to seamlessly switch from email to single or multi-party conference calls.

The phones are expected to be available in Singapore from mid-May and end-June 2009.
